Safer and More Efficient Appliance Use

Regular cleaning and correct use of white goods, built-in appliances, stoves and ovens can help reduce performance loss, unnecessary energy use and some common faults. The manufacturer’s instructions in the appliance manual should always take priority.

Basic Maintenance Checks

  • Keep ventilation openings, filters and drainage paths clean.
  • Stop using the appliance if a power cable, plug, hose or gas connection appears damaged.
  • Clean oven and stove surfaces only after they have cooled, using suitable products.
  • Switch the appliance off and request technical support if you notice unusual noise, odour, sparks, a gas smell or an error code.

Safety Notice

User intervention in electrical, gas or pressurised systems can be dangerous. Removing panels, replacing wiring, adjusting gas components and changing internal parts should be carried out by trained technical personnel.
